Of course, we're thankful it didn't rain in the city, but the humidity did make any physical movement feel a bit more tedious. And what is a teambuilding trip without games to get you moving not just your brain but every muscle in your body? Lagare indeed.
We left Manila at around 7 am, a wee bit excited and a little too jolly singing along with our playlist stained with puberty and K-poppery. We arrived at Picnic Grove nine-ish - walked around, played some games, learned teamwork stuff and some went to try out the zipline. The horses looked a little sad and the area a little too...um small...to ride around, so I didn't feel even the slightest excitement and just passed.
We had lunch at Leslie's Restaurant - which is popular for its bulalo (unlimited refill ng soup!) and its location boasting with a beautiful view of Taal.
One of the best bowls of bulalo I've ever had. The meat is soft, vegetables are well-steamed and the soup is flavorful. One bowl is enough to share with three people. Everything on the table was delicious - grilled liempo, grilled tilapia, chicken (barbecue?), pinakbet con lechon de kawali and leche flan - and for around P500-P600 per head, busog na! I think their set meals are overestimated though - a set for 15 is actually more than enough even for a group of 18.
I enjoyed the afternoon drive, having more people in the van and the temperature a little cooler.
Our next stop, People's Park, is a postcard sight with clouds engulfing everything.
It was the perfect time for zombies to come climbing out of the railings and chase the never-been-dead around the ruins. But I had to snap out of it and participate in the games. :(
The clouds cleared later in the afternoon, revealing a super amazing 360-degree view of Tagaytay.
Awesome way to end the work week! It was nice to finally hang out with the team outside the sea of corporate suits that is Makati.
You guys make sitting in front of a computer for eight hours every day livable. <3
