El Pollo Loco

I'm inclined to write a comprehensive review of Immortals (2011) after seeing it last night but two things prevent me. One, I have a few errands to run on this very sabaw Friday morning. Two, I'm not sure my idea of a comprehensive review (hint: lotsa half-nekkid photos of Henry Cavill) would help anybody who hasn't seen it understand the story. So I'll just give it to ya in two words: OH THESEUS.

Moving on - even though I am feigning feeling busy at seven in the morning, I found a little time to squeeze in writing a short review of where dinner was: El Pollo Loco at SM Megamall.

My friend (without the " ", I shall reiterate, lol) and I had the "lovers' meal" which is basically just four pieces of chicken, salsa, two pieces of tortilla, two orders of Spanish rice, leche flan and two glasses of iced tea (Nestea, I believe). It was around P350 for everything - still economical, just a nudge above other more loved fast-food chains but offering something different.

On the chicken: I loved how flavorful the skin was but the herb-y taste didn't really quite make it through the meat - not bland but just uh err...lacking a little? Same goes for the Spanish rice, which I don't really enjoy anywhere anyway. Also, I didn't quite get the idea of eating tortilla without anything or with salsa alone so I just left mine untouched.

I would eat here again - on days when I'm scrimping but craving for something un-everyday.
(Short review, check.)
