2012 reading list

I don't really reserve a particular time each day for reading, except the early morning commute to work. And even that is dependent on my mood. So even though I can read faster than most, with the little time I allocate for reading, I take long finishing a book from cover to cover. (Fastest would be three days each for Nicholas Spark's Dear John, Greg Cox' Infinite Crisis and six volumes of the Scott Pilgrim comics.) Currently I'm re-reading Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys and after more or less a week, I'm still not halfway through. I need to work double if I want to achieve my 2012 reading list.

As I've already shared, my book selection is heavily dependent on word-of-mouth. I usually don't go to bookstores without a specific title in mind (or well, an author). (Quick confession: I rarely go to Book Sale because I'm too lazy to browse through unorganized racks. It's naaat fun.) But lately I've had enough time browsing around Powerbooks (yes, always Powerbooks) and the internets, and has seen a few titles that are not necessarily bestsellers but are interesting enough - cover, synopsis and all.

You'll find my 2012 reading list after the photo:

1. Zombies vs Unicorns, edited by Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier.
2. You Must Go and Win by Alina Simone
3. The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin
4. Room by Emma Donoghue
5. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith
6. Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H Winters
7. Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks
8. Splinter Cell by Tom Clancy
9. Without Remorse by Tom Clancy
10. American Gods by Neil Gaiman
11. Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk

  2. I'm ashamed to say that I haven't read a single Gaiman book yet. What would you recommend?

Also, FIGHT CLUB!!! Have you seen the movie? They are both equally awesome.

  5. i'd say don't go for the Tom Clancy titles na may kasama siyang nagsulat. i'm a Clancy fan, but not the ones na may co-author siya. his ryanverse novels are good, though. so there. :D
